Are you an experienced and compassionate teacher with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in Manchester. This role involves teaching secondary-aged students who are working at primary level due to their individual needs.

The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
• Teach secondary-aged students working at primary level, ensuring lessons are accessible and meaningful.
• Provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages progress and development.
• Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to create effective education plans for each pupil.
• Use innovative strategies and resources to support learning and communication.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly those with complex needs.
• Is skilled at differentiating lessons for students working significantly below age-related expectations.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Is empathetic, patient, and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
• Experience with alternative communication strategies such as Makaton, PECs, or similar is desirable.
